
The Radio Tower 'Funkturm' was build between 1924 – 1926 in Berlin Charlottenburg and was a monument of the new technical era.
The steel grid construction was build after drafts of architect Heinrich Straumer and became operative on the occasion of the 3rd IFA fair. Just a few years after becoming operative it was sending the first tv pictures but back then still without sound.
The radio tower has a height of 150 m, it offers a restaurant on a height of 55 m and a sight seeing platform on the height of 125 m. You can enjoy a fantastic view over west Berlin on days of good weather.
